Judy Hoberman spoke to the MPI D/FW Chapter members and guests in our September 2019 chapter luncheon. As a standard, our chapter highlights prominent speakers who have the ability to dazzle the most seasoned attendees. “Selling in a S.K.I.R.T.” keynote delivered actionable take-away items in a structured, easy to understand way. What I did not expect is the personal impact that Judy’s presentation had on me. Judy challenged the attendees with “What do you still want to accomplish?” That powerful question kept showing up on my social media accounts as other attendees were equally challenged by it. Judy delivers motivation and inspiration, she is approachable and inclusive (the session applies equally to women and men). She is an influencer. As Judy stated in her presentation: “The best way to predict the future is to create it” – a statement that continues to drive me well to the future. I truly look forward to hearing her speak again.
Judy is a phenomenal woman and powerhouse speaker. She was our Keynote at our most recent American College of Healthcare Executives Women’s Health Executive Network (ACHENTX WHEN) Women’s Annual Conference, and she spoke to us on the importance of what it takes to be a good leader and coach. When you become a good leader, it is always good to coach others and help them along the way. That is what Judy does. She empowers women by leading and coaching them to be more successful, confident, and self-aware. She helps women to realize the power that they truly have inside of them. I personally am empowered when I listen to her speak, as it makes me realize how much value that I can provide and help other women to become better leaders and coaches themselves. A woman needs to remember that we are of value, and we should also be heard and not just seen. We have our own voices, and we need to use them to help promote and empower other women to be as successful as they would like to be.

You know that feeling when you meet someone and you just click?! Well, for me, her name is Judy, and we were introduced by a mutual friend in 2018. Judy instantly became a woman I loved and respected the moment I met her. She has served as both a formal and informal mentor in my life for several years now. I feel I have gained the most strength in would be "knowing your value." I feel working with YOU and the women in our group has given me the confidence to recognize my value and to lead my company with confidence. I was on my way as we began our time together but thanks to the wonderfully supportive women and their contacts, I am growing my company exactly the way I had planned. As we LOOK each time we are together at ourselves and what we have accomplished versus what we want to accomplish I feel it helps me step further into the business owner and person I want to be. Never giving up but recognizing my value and taking steps forward to understand myself and my business.
One of the most valuable ways working with you was on how to lead through several difficult times in the life of the agency. You helped me to shift from being reticent about standing out or being vocal about accomplishments. I shifted to leading with more confidence and talking about the agency in a way that lets the audience know the great things going on. Previously I would have felt like I was bragging.
One of the major takeaways from the RoundTable for me was confidence. When I first showed up, I felt that I didn't belong. That there was nothing I could possibly have to contribute. Yet, once we all got to talking and sharing, I realized I did have expertise to share and could support others. That was a huge benefit to me, my confidence, and my business. Thank you for creating a safe space for that to occur.
I think one of my biggest challenges was my limiting beliefs coming into this group. You know how much I struggled with not wanting to do this group because I didn’t feel I had enough to offer. I quickly learned I did have something to offer and that I could hold my own with these wonderful women who come from all different careers. Showing up each week and participating, adding to the conversation helped me overcome this belief that I had nothing to offer. I learned my value as I shifted during the pandemic. I changed the way I was doing business and brought my team along with me as we learning to do sales in a very different time. I gained so much confidence keeping up with many and surpassing many as well. Redoing my website, adding a buyer’s portal, kept us in a please where we were and remain very relevant to our customers. It is a work in progress, but we are building sales with existing vendors and new ones as well.
Judy has a way of empowering and encouraging others which changes any negative image you have of yourself. In its place, you see a reflection of Judy, behind you cheering you on. Judy always points out the positive side of a situation... Instead of wanting to give up and listening to the negative self-talk, you start to believe that you CAN accomplish what you would like to do. --My life has been filled with peaks and valleys, always spinning several plates at the same time always hoping that they don't fall. I have achieved many milestones in my life, as well as experienced my share of challenging personal knocks. Instead of concentrating on survival, Judy reminds you of who you are and what you have accomplished. Focusing on that allows me to thrive. During this past year of working with Judy, I have really been able to get a better understanding of my WHY With the trust I have in Judy to never lead me down a rabbit hole and witnessing how she recreated her business; I knew I would be able to continue to stay on track to grow my business. However, I started to suffer from Imposter Syndrome and Judy has helped me through that. She keeps reminding me to not compare myself to others, to realize the value I bring to the table, and why people do business with me---This past year has been extremely important to me because with Judy's support, guidance, and being the wind beneath my wings I know I will create the business I want to have and the life I want to live.
Another program I did that was focused on sales had these results: This one began in July 2020 and ran for 90 days. At the end of that time, all group members surpassed their 2019 numbers. The highest growth rate-one member finished 2019 at $22.5k (measured differently in the financial arena FYC’s) and as of September, she is already at $82k. The second larges overall growth was 66% increase from 2019. Two other members are at 75% and 64% in case numbers. The company extended the group for another 90 days and then once again.
